Broto Tecnologia Agrícola proposes promoting the increase of sustainable vegetable production and reducing environmental impacts through hydroponic automation.
Aimed at an audience of hydroponic producers between 40 and 60 years old, the proposal is an integrated sensor system, Big Data and Mobile, and aims to meet the demand for automation for Hydroponics, reduce the need for chemical and pesticide inputs and contribute to reducing costs for family production.
The idea came up in the classroom of the Federal Institute of Amazonas (IFAM), in the control and automation engineering course. The creators of the business are young entrepreneurs with expertise in new technologies for agribusiness, software and hardware, and they proposed an automatic PH monitoring and control system and a nutritious solution for hydroponic tanks.
Although the real and scalable demand for technology is not yet clear, the proposal follows a relevant trend and seems to have efficiency for the market, which may go beyond the rural zone, reaching the so-called urban farms. The focus of activity is Manaus and its surroundings.
Broto is in the process of validating the idea, with a business incubated at INPA. The prototype is ready for automation, having been tested on partner farms.
STAGE OF BUSINESS
VALIDATION OF THE IDEA
ABOUT THE BUSINESS
PH monitoring and automatic control system and nutrient solution for hydroponic tanks.
WHAT DOES IT SOLVE?
The need to use pesticides for growing vegetables. Lack of time for other complementary activities and financial loss.
POSITIVE SOCIOENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS
Reduces the need for chemical and pesticide inputs and contributes to cost savings for family production.
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION
The real and scalable demand for hydroponics technology is unclear, but the solution follows a relevant trend and appears to be efficient for the market. The focus is on Manaus and its surroundings.
In the idea validation phase. It is being incubated at INPA. Prototype ready to automate, tested in partner farms. The software and the application with the dashboards are already ready. The cost per unit is BRL thousand, to operate in two tanks.
